Par-Fit Racor Aftermarket Parts

Bypass Oil Element Support This distinctive metal support pattern is found inside the bottom of the Racor Absolute™ Bypass Oil Filter housing. Why is the pattern needed? The pattern was chosen because it drains oil more efficiently than any other pattern tested, while supporting the replacement element. Is your oil as clean as it should be? A standard spin-on full flow filters particles in the 20-40 micron range. However, smaller 4-7 micron particles actually cause the majority of abrasive engine wear. Bypass filters work by taking a small percentage of the oil flow and directing it through a compressed rolled-media element capable of removing ultra-fine particles as small as 3 microns. What are the benefits? Extend your engine’s service life, extend maintenance intervals, and reduce operating costs. Water Shedding Outer Wrap This is the special water repelling outer-wrap media on the PFF4617 Primary Fuel Filter / Water Separator kit What does it do? This single layer wrap of nonwoven media keeps droplets of free water from settling in between pleats of the underlying media. Why is it needed? Unlike most vertically installed filter elements, this one is installed horizontal in its housing to save space on the vehicle. Since the element sits horizontally in the fuel pump module, the radial pleats at the top are subject to filling up with droplets of water. Without this outer wrap, accumulated water could eventually wet the media and be drawn through by the electric pump. Water getting past the elements may corrode sensitive injection system parts. In spite of the water danger to engines, some non-OEM will-fit replacement elements do not have a water barrier wrap on the outside of the filter element. Oil Mist Coalescing Media Show here is Racor’s depthloading, micro-glass fiber coalescing media wrapped in a spunbond polyester release layer, found in the CCV55248-08 element. What does it do? Racor CCV systems operate by coalescing oil mist from crankcase gases. Filtered air from the CCV assembly is returned to the air intake system between the air filter and the turbocharger. Coalesced oil drains to the oil pan via a hose connection. The pressure regulating valve protects the engine from excessive crankcase vacuum. When is it serviced? When the element has reached its useful life, the indicator will alert the user that the element needs to be changed. The element is designed to operate efficiently and to be serviced every other oil change unless the indicator shows a requirement for service. Country of Origin Mark Most ParFit replacement filters have this country of origin logo. What is the significance? Parker is a global company, with manufacturing locations around the world producing genuine Racor replacement filters. Racor manufactures filters for OEM customers, some of which have localized manufacturing production. Therefore, they need a certain percentage of their parts to come from the same country where they are selling their engines or vehicles. We are proud of our global presence, so we clearly indicate the country of origin on every filter we make. The majority of our filters are still designed, tested and manufactured in the USA.
